Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our team in Goleta, California. In this position, you will oversee procurement activities, manage vendor relationships, and ensure the seamless processing of sales orders. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach to managing inventory and logistics.
Responsibilities:
• Source and procure materials, goods, and services from a variety of vendors, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to secure favorable terms and optimize procurement outcomes.
• Evaluate vendor proposals based on cost, reliability, and delivery timelines to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Process sales orders with a high degree of accuracy, verifying all technical specifications and pricing details.
• Act as the primary liaison between sales teams and operations to address and resolve order-related issues.
• Coordinate with suppliers to schedule deliveries and address shipping discrepancies or delays.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Oversee inventory management, ensuring timely delivery and proper packaging of stock to designated locations.
• Track and manage orders using relevant systems, such as SAP, to monitor progress and address any discrepancies.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors to ensure adherence to quality and delivery standards. Requirements • At least 1 year of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role.
• Strong skills in sourcing materials and managing vendor relationships.
• Proficiency in inventory management and tracking tools, such as SAP.
• Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors to achieve optimal pricing and terms.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage procurement and sales order processes.
• Strong attention to detail when verifying specifications, pricing, and order accuracy.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Familiarity with logistics coordination and resolving shipping discrepancies.
