Description We are looking for a motivated Purchasing Agent to oversee procurement activities and ensure the efficient acquisition of materials, supplies, and equipment. This Contract position is based in Holland, Michigan, and involves managing purchase orders, analyzing inventory, and fostering vendor relationships to support organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in purchasing functions and a proactive approach to optimizing procurement processes.
Responsibilities:
• Create and process purchase orders while ensuring compliance with company policies and cost parameters.
• Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock and forecast future procurement needs using data analysis.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors to secure timely deliveries and resolve any discrepancies.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
• Track the status of orders and address delays or issues to maintain operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate documentation of purchasing activities and inventory levels, ensuring proper reporting.
• Analyze purchasing trends and vendor performance to identify opportunities for cost optimization.
• Implement improvements to procurement workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce operational bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align purchasing strategies with organizational goals. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles.
• Proficiency with inventory management systems, procurement software, and data analysis tools.
• Strong analytical skills to forecast demand and evaluate inventory data.
• Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing and terms with vendors.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities for vendor interactions and team collaboration.
• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple purchase orders and ensure timely execution.
• Familiarity with purchasing functions and activities, including purchase order creation and vendor management.
