Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our team in Harahan, Louisiana. In this short-term contract to full time role, you will play a vital part in managing procurement processes and ensuring the timely acquisition of materials essential to our construction operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with vendors and internal teams to optimize purchasing activities. Responsibilities: • Manage and oversee all purchasing activities, including the preparation and processing of purchase orders. • Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues related to orders. • Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain necessary stock for construction projects. • Evaluate vendor options and negotiate contracts to achieve the best pricing and terms. • Work closely with project managers and other departments to forecast material needs. • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards in all procurement processes. • Maintain accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and inventory using Microsoft Excel. • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the purchasing department. • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to support long-term partnerships. Requirements • Proven experience in purchasing functions within the construction industry. • Strong knowledge of procurement processes and materials management. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting purposes. • Excellent negotiation and communication skills for vendor interactions. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to procurement. • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities. • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
