Duties And Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the Purchasing Agent responsibilities would include, but will not be limited to, the following:  

Prepare or edit purchase requisitions from various personnel.  Review requisitions to verify accuracy of specifications, account codes, commodity codes and item codes. Support and partnership with PM&R group for product selection, price negotiations and purchasing decisions.   Contact vendors for comparative quotes; Assures proper evaluation of vendors for best cost /best business practices for sourcing  Create purchase orders for the acquisition of materials utilizing best cost / business practices for sourcing and following Company process and authorization matrix  Place orders with suppliers or vendors and ensuring that documentation is in order, with terms and conditions being clear.  Schedule or expedite deliveries of goods and services and obtain confirmation.  Secure most cost-effective delivery method for sourced materials Provide backup support for Storeroom Attendant Provide administrative assistance as needed within department and across plant All other duties as assigned
