Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our team in Fort Worth, TX. This direct hire position plays a vital role in managing procurement activities, maintaining inventory levels, and supporting supplier relationships to ensure seamless and cost-effective operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and issue purchase orders to suppliers and vendors.
Monitor inventory levels and order materials as needed to meet project and operational demands.
Respond to customer and supplier inquiries regarding order status, changes, and cancellations.
Schedule and expedite deliveries; resolve issues related to shortages, missed, or late shipments.
Review requisitions to verify accuracy, specifications, and compliance with company standards.
Track and manage the status of all purchase orders from initiation to delivery.
Confirm shipments upon arrival to ensure accuracy and that materials meet required specifications.
Compare invoices with purchase orders and quotations to verify pricing and terms before approving for payment.
Evaluate and monitor supplier performance; recommend adjustments or alternative sources as needed.
Analyze bids to determine the best value based on price, delivery time, and quality.
Assist with inventory control, including cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
Perform other procurement-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software/systems is a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. Requirements
