About our Team

The Elsevier Content & Data Sourcing (CDS) team, part of the Data Operations department, drives the growth of third-party content across various Elsevier Digital Solutions, including Scopus, Engineering Village, and Embase. The team manages relationships with over 15,000 global partners, such as publishers, funders, and patent offices, across diverse content types, including books, journals, patents, and funding data. Its mission focuses on the seamless onboarding of partners through rights management and optimized delivery solutions. In China, we work with hundreds of publishers and editorial offices, showcasing over 1,400 Chinese journals in Elsevier solutions.

About the Role

As a member of the CDS team, the Publishing Relations Executive (PRE) is responsible for nurturing trusted partnerships with content partners. This role oversees end-to-end operational workflows, including signing contracts, setting up content delivery, maintaining journal status and resolving content ingestion and indexation challenges. Based in Beijing, the PRE collaborates with both local and global cross-functional teams to contribute to the growth of Chinese third-party content while meeting quality benchmarks and timelines. This role is pivotal in aligning content acquisition with Elsevier’s innovation and monetization goals.

Responsibilities

Partner Onboarding: Drive the growth of Chinese third-party content by managing the renewal of over 1,400 existing Chinese journals and onboarding more than 100 newly selected Chinese journals annually.Content Delivery: Facilitate the setup of content delivery for newly selected journals and ensure smooth and consistent partner service throughout various stages of the content indexing lifecycle.Delight Customers: Maintain trusted relationships with existing Chinese content partners by supporting end-to-end operational activities. Provide customer-centric service and timely feedback to local content partners.Safeguard Rights: Support the licensing process lifecycle for selected content partners. Act as a gatekeeper, ensuring adherence to Elsevier's best practices for the use and display of third-party content, thereby safeguarding Elsevier's reputation and the intellectual property of our content partners.

Requirements

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or higher, with 3+ years of proven corporate experience. Experience working in an international matrix organization is a plus.Industry Knowledge: Possess knowledge of Chinese journals and the Chinese academic publishing industry. Familiarity with typesetting, website, and platform operations is a plus.Problem-Solving Skills: A problem-solving and results-driven mindset. Effectively analyzes issues, develops solutions, and is committed to achieving goals and delivering outcomes.Customer-Centric Attitude: A commitment to delivering a smooth, seamless, and consistent customer experience across all touchpoints and various stages of the content lifecycle.Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to processing and production, to resolve issues through collaborative efforts.Software Skills: Proficient in Windows applications, including PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce is a plus.Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, with strong verbal and writing skills. Excellent internal and external communication skills are required for this position.
