Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job DescriptionThe Publicist will generate maximum, positive publicity coverage and target appropriate press/media outlets for VERSANT’s four entertainment cable networks (Oxygen, E!, USA, & SYFY.)
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Act as media strategist, campaign planner and spokesperson for assigned showsAid in development and execution of a comprehensive communications campaign to support assigned series and specials, including scripted, unscripted, documentaries and live events. Develop relationships with the talent, production partners, PR agencies and representatives, agents, managers, , media and programming executives in order to ensure maximum positive press coverageCoordinate print and electronic interviews and photo shoots on behalf of assigned series and talentGenerate press materials including ratings and programming releases, series descriptions, loglines, bios, and talking points,Pitch stories to trade and consumer press to support overall series campaigns Service daily media requests and act as network source of information on programsDevelop, plan and execute events, press junkets and screenings for priority series across each networkTrack budgets for assigned series and run point on press schedules and travel itineraries for series talentWork closely with cross-functional teams to executive overall campaign objectives for network prioritiesStaff virtual and in-person press appearances for network talent, executives and series producersQualificationsQualifications/Requirements:
