Public Affairs Manager

Are you passionate about shaping public policy and building strong relationships with government and industry stakeholders? SEL is seeking a Public Affairs Manager to lead strategic engagement with state policymakers, agencies, and trade associations. You’ll work closely with internal leaders and external partners to promote a fair and open business environment aligned with SEL’s values.

As a Public Affairs Manager, a typical day might include the following:
• Meeting with state officials or attending legislative sessions to advocate for SEL’s policy positions.
• Analyzing proposed regulations and laws to assess their impact on SEL operations and recommending strategic responses.
• Collaborating with trade associations and industry groups to align on policy initiatives.
• Communicating with SEL leadership and employees about current and upcoming government actions that may affect the business.
• Participating in team strategy sessions to align public affairs efforts with SEL’s mission and values.

This job might be for you if:
• You have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 7 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or a similar industry.
• You’re a strong communicator with excellent writing and speaking skills
• You thrive in a collaborative team environment and enjoy building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• You’re comfortable traveling up to 30% of the time
• You’re proficient in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Word, and eager to learn new tools and responsibilities.

We anticipate filling this position as a Public Affairs Manager $88,000 - $120,000. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
