Day in the Life of a Substance Abuse Counselor
Provides individual counseling to highly complex patientsConducts clinical assessments to appropriately assess patient’s treatment needsDesigns and updates the patient’s treatment plan, including care coordination, referrals, and discharge planningManages assigned caseload and compliance with clinical treatment requirementsCollaborates with nurses and providers to provide holistic treatment servicesFacilitates urine drug screening for patientsionClinic Schedule:

Position Requirements:
The most qualified candidates will possess the following:
Must hold a Resident in Counseling, LPC, LSATP or LCSW, CSAC License in the state of Virginia.Must have at least one year of experience as a substance abuse counselor.Experience treating opioid-addicted patients is not a requirement but is preferred.No legal impediments to serving in a licensed opiate treatment program.Must have a valid driver's license.If recovering, three years of continuous verifiable abstinence is required.Position Benefits
