The Position

Primary Purpose of Job (Job Summary)

Responsible for both the digitalization implementation at the existing finished goods site and the building up and start-up of the new drug product site.

Site Digital Roadmap setup and implementation: Develop and implement a site-level AI & digital transformation roadmap, conduct gap analyses to identify opportunities (e.g., AI, automation), and evaluate digital tools to meet strategic and operational needs.

Cross-Functional Leadership and Process Optimization: Lead cross-functional AI/ digital projects, deliver end-to-end solutions, and use digital tools to optimize production processes, enhancing quality, efficiency, and traceability.

Change Management and Cultural Transformation: Implement change management plans, run AI & digital campaigns to drive best practices and alignment, and enhance employee AI & digital skills to foster a digitally-driven organizational culture.

Principle Roles & Responsibilities / Accountabilities
(Major functions of the position)                             

AI & Digital

Develop and execute a site level AI & digital transformation roadmap aligned with site business goals and global strategy/ initiatives.

Conduct gap analyses to identify AI/ digital opportunities (e.g. automation, AI) and address challenges.

Lead and coordinate cross-functional AI/ digital project teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Lead multiple cross-functional AI/ digital projects and develop thoughtful end-to-end solutions.

Evaluate and select AI/ digital tools/technologies to meet strategic objectives and operational needs.

Lead and participate in process optimization projects using AI/ digital and statistical tools to sustainably increase the quality, efficiency, and traceability of production processes.

Develop and implement change management plans to ensure smooth execution of AI/ digital transformation initiatives.

Facilitate the AI/ Digital Campaigns by driving best practices, continuous improvement, feedback, and facilitating regular communication to ensure priorities are clear and processes are aligned.

Enhance employees’ AI & digital awareness and skills through tailored training programs and drive organizational AI & digital cultural transformation.

Leadership & People Management:

Build and maintain strong partnerships with other site and network leaders to assure alignment around strategic projects and day-to-day activities and to assure mutually successful working relationships.

Ability to implement, coach and apply lean and agile ways of working. Develop and communicate organizational strategies, which ensure the GMP compliance of the site, continuous improvements and achievement of long-term goals.

Build a culture of digitalization, continuous improvement and role model lean leadership principles.

Qualification and Experience

Bachelor / master degree preferably in Computer Science, Informatics, or Engineering8 Years project management experience preferably within the pharmaceutical Industry and/or Operations including influence in the design of digital manufacturing processes Experience with the digital landscape of operations (shop floor systems, QC systems, data management) and have a working knowledge of incident management processes.Successfully led large-scale digital projects or programs, demonstrating your ability to efficiently and effectively manage complex tasks.Pharmaceutical Industry-Related CompetenciesRegulatory and Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry regulations (e.g., GxP, FDA, EMA regulations) and data compliance standards (e.g., ALCOA+, etc.).Knowledge of Drug Development and Production Processes: Understanding of end-to-end processes in pharmaceutical development and production.Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS):Familiarity with the functionalities and applications of LIMS, Manufacturing Execution Systems(MES), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.Drug Traceability and Supply Chain Management: Understanding the digital requirements of pharmaceutical supply chains (e.g., batch traceability and cold chain management) as well as the relevant technical solutions.AI & Digital Transformation CompetenciesData Governance and Analytical Skills: Capability to organize, analyze, and interpret large datasets to support decision-making, particularly in clinical research, quality management, and operational optimization.Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML):Ability to apply AI/ML to address challenges in the pharmaceutical industry, such as drug discovery and clinical trial optimization.Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Manufacturing: Understanding the application of IoT in pharmaceutical production, such as real-time data acquisition, product quality monitoring, and predictive maintenance.Enterprise AI & Digital Transformation Strategy: Ability to drive the overall digital vision for pharmaceutical companies and design and execute end-to-end AI & digital projects.Project Management and Change LeadershipCross-Functional Team Collaboration:Ability to establish collaboration among teams from technical operations, production, facility and engineering, quality, supply chain, IT, and compliance.Agile Project Management: Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and the implementation of Agile practices specific to the pharmaceutical industry.Change Management: Effective management of organizational change, guiding teams to understand and adopt new technologies and processes.Technical CompetenciesFoundational Data Science Skills: Proficiency in essential data-processing tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).Cloud Computing and Architecture: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), an understanding of hybrid cloud architecture, and storage requirements for pharmaceutical data.System Integration Skills: Ability to integrate AI/ digital systems into existing workflows (e.g., ERP, MES, and manufacturing equipment).Quality and Operational Optimization CompetenciesContinuous Improvement: Drive lean management and AI/ digital optimization in pharmaceutical production to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.Compliance Automation: Mastery of automation solutions to fulfill compliance requirements, such as near-real-time quality audits and automated inspection systems.Communication and Training CompetenciesTechnical and Business Language Translation:Ability to translate technical terms into language understandable by business executives and non-technical teams.Training Competencies: Capability to provide training on AI & digital tools to pharmaceutical staff, ensuring proper system usage.Innovation and Learning CompetenciesInsight into Industry Trends: Tracking cutting-edge digital technologies (e.g., precision medicine, bioinformatics tools, digital therapeutics), market dynamics, and competitive landscapes.Fast Learning and AdaptabilityAbility to quickly grasp new tools and technologies and apply them to real-world business scenarios.Innovative Mindset: Propose creative AI/ digital solutions, such as digital twin technology, virtual clinical trials, and smart lab monitoring systems.Languages: Fluency in English and Chinese
