Job Summary:

The PSM Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating the Process Safety Management program at Tyson Foods. This role ensures compliance with OSHA's PSM standards and other applicable safety regulations. The PSM Coordinator works closely with various departments to implement safety programs, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Implementation:Develop, implement, and maintain the PSM program in accordance with OSHA standards and company policies.Create and update PSM-related documentation, including process safety information, operating procedures, and emergency response plans.Compliance and Auditing:Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with PSM standards and identify areas for improvement.Maintain records of audits, inspections, and corrective actions taken.Risk Assessment and Analysis:Perform hazard analyses, including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), to identify and mitigate risks associated with hazardous chemicals and processes.Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement risk reduction measures.Training and Education:Develop and deliver PSM training programs for employees, contractors, and management.Ensure that all personnel involved in PSM-covered processes are adequately trained and informed about safety procedures and regulations.Incident Investigation:Lead investigations into process-related incidents and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.Prepare detailed reports on incident investigations and share findings with relevant stakeholders.Emergency Response:Develop and maintain emergency response plans for PSM-covered processes.Coordinate emergency response drills and exercises to ensure preparedness.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, maintenance, and EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) to promote a culture of safety.Communicate PSM-related information and updates to employees and management.Time ManagementPSM job responsibilities come first when other tasks are asked to be completed.Running point on the Asset Watch vibration alerts: Investigating and working with management on next steps.Assisting with Equipment Storage Areas.Assisting with running a forklift to move equipment and unloading trucks. Assisting Electrical Technician’s with jobs that need more than 1 person.Assisting other managers, not limited to Refrigeration Manager.

Qualifications:

Education:Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field.Experience:Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in process safety management, preferably in the food processing or manufacturing industry.Experience with OSHA PSM standards and other relevant safety regulations.Skills:Strong knowledge of process safety principles and practices.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.Certifications:Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification is preferred.

Working Conditions:

The PSM Coordinator may be required to work in various environments, including office settings and production facilities.Occasional travel may be required for training, audits, and inspections.
