Job DescriptionJob responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
The Protection Services Analyst will be responsible for the management, analysis and profiling of information generated by Crime Information systems. This is aimed at the identification of crime patterns, trends and threats as well as conducting reconstruction analysis of criminal events to assist investigations.
Manage, analyze and profile information generated by Crime Information systems:
Conduct data interrogation, analysis and profiling on Crime Information related database systems;Conduct data interrogation, analysis and profiling on Crime Information related database systems;Detecting of patterns and trends in data related to priority crimes;Conduct comprehensive reconstruction analysis on identified trends;Accurate and comprehensive identification of crime threats;Timely, comprehensive and accurate response to urgent requests;Ensure Discretion and confidentiality;Adhering to Safety, Regulations, The Act, Codes of practice and standardsMaintain Crime Information systems
Maintain accurate, up to date and comprehensive Crime information systems;Continuous cleaning of data to find duplicates and identify links on unstructured data to enhance Data integrity;Continuous review of audit protocols, data checklists, business rules and queries to find best practices to enhance Crime information systems;Update and maintain the statistical, analysis and charting system templatesProvide comprehensive and accurate output from Crime Information Systems
Compile comprehensive and accurate statistical and information reports and graphs;Compile comprehensive, accurate and in-depth Crime Threat Analyses;Compile comprehensive and accurate reconstruction analyses charts;Conduct all work according to applicable and required legislation, policies, standards and procedures to ensure output is admissible criminal court evidence;Crime information management strategy and risk modelling
Execute the System and Crime reporting related protocol (including manuals, policies and procedures);Formulate, plan, and initiate information gathering strategies to enhance Crime information management and analysis;Identify data sources and incorporate into system risk modelling to enhance Crime threat analysis capacity;Identify opportunities to improve Crime Information systems and share best practice solutionsProvide efficient collaboration and assistance in investigations related to Crime threats Add role activities
Compile comprehensive and accurate Crime Threat analysis findings information reports, graphs and charts;Provide comprehensive, accurate and in-depth feedback presentations on findings, identified patterns, trends and threats;Establish effective Inter-department/unit communication and correspondence with all relevant role-players;Perform ad hoc tasks given by Protection Services Senior AnalystQualificationsN.B Kindly upload all relevant certificates to your application. Prescribed:
Grade 12NQF level 5 Diploma in Crime Analysis/ Research/ Investigation/Policing/ Security/ Law (RPL can be applied to recognize skills obtained through short courses and experience)Desirable:

Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Security or equivalent environment of which 3 years should be in Investigation/ Crime Information analysis/Intelligence/ and, or Profiling;3 years’ experience in supervisory position;Technical knowledge(experience) required for role:
Intermediate level of computer literacy: MS Office (Excel and Access)Crime analysis applications (Analyst Notebook, CiiMS and iBase systems)Developing skill in understanding and recognition of criminal incident behaviour and suspect profiling;Proficient skill in report writing;Competent in functional systems used in the organization;Advanced skill in the use of analytical tools (e.g. Analyst studio / Data Walk);Knowledge of security related legislation/policies/procedures/standards and VPSHR;Basic project management skillsPre-Requisite
