In this position... This is a Management position within the Internal Combustion Engine Powertrain and Thermal System Engineering (IPTSE) team. Specifically, the role is the Engine Propulsion Manager for the 6.8L and 7.3L Air Induction, Engine and Exhaust System. What you'll do... The job description outlines the responsibilities of a manager overseeing the Godzilla 6.8L/7.3L Propulsion System Enterprise, which leads the design and release of engine systems, subsystems and components for Ford Blue and Ford Pro vehicles globally. The key responsibilities include: 1. **Propulsion System management** : Managing the entire propulsion system, including air induction, engine, and exhaust systems. 2. **Quality and reliability** : Ensuring all components meet design rules, pass validation requirements, and comply with regulations, while achieving quality and reliability targets. 3. **Program management** : Delivering two engine unit programs that support four vehicle programs, meeting Ford's GPDS milestones. 4. **Technical oversight** : Guiding design and release of hundreds of components (Air induction, Engine, and Exhaust), analytical and empirical attribute trade-offs, and resolving technical issues (8D resolution). 5. **Supply chain and manufacturing** : Collaborating with the supply base, manufacturing teams, and other stakeholders to ensure component sourcing, production, and delivery. 6. **Issue resolution** : Addressing OPD quality issues, as well as implementing TVM actions as needed. 7. **People Development** : Build the best team, by ensuring career development and engineering excellence within the team. The manager will work closely with various teams across Ford, including vehicle engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and vehicle program teams, to ensure successful delivery of the Godzilla Propulsion system and meet the company's quality, reliability, and regulatory standards. You'll have... Bachelor's degree in engineering. 15+ years powertrain engineering. Even better, you may have... Master's degree in engineering. Strong knowledge of the Ford D&R process. Strong knowledge of Air Induction, Engine and Exhaust components and systems. Experience in Engine system Core design or development. Strong interpersonal skills for problem solving – Engineering Excellence. Strong presentation stills for management presentations. Ability to guide team in high stress / priority situations - weekend and holiday. Strong leadership skills with ability to work with multiple partners and suppliers, and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with high responsibility. History of developing a strong team.
