Proposal Engineer - EPC
If you are an Engineer with experience in control systems and/or process operations, Emerson has a great opportunity for you! We are looking to add a Proposal Engineer - EPC (Engineer/Procure/Construct) to our Cranberry Township, PA office. You will own the creation of highly competitive and strategic proposals for the North America Power Projects Proposals organization. You will develop and optimize the EPC offer scope for from both a technical and commercial perspective, encompassing written proposals and accompanying cost estimates. Emerson’s five decades of power and water expertise embedded within the Ovation™ distributed control system (DCS) forms a reliable and innovative platform that evolves with rapidly changing technology to help improve plant reliability.   In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Review customer specifications for craft labor skills. Engage appropriate vendors to support the required labor and support the contractor bid process. Support site walkdowns with potential vendors, to secure competitive bids for scope of work, and evaluate vendor quotes for accuracy. Create and/or review Scope of Work (SOW) documents, based on walkdowns with potential sub contractor, and/or based on process and industry knowledge. Partner with internal procurement teams to qualify vendors.  Collaborate with project engineering to develop optimized outage plans and schedules to minimize labor related costs and identify best cost approaches. Optimize the EPC Proposal process to develop “best cost,” technically compliant solutions. Foster relationships with future vendors, increasing vendor flexibility, and maintain strong relationships with current vendors, to ensure best-cost pricing and cohesive approaches to completing projects.  Determine prevailing regional wages and project labor requirements in order to provide installation cost estimates. For This Role, You Will Need: BS in Engineering or equivalent  Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience with control systems (PLC/DCS/SCADA)  Ability to travel up to 25% of the time Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future  Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: Preferred 10 years experience with Ovation DCS Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering is preferred Experience with writing proposals and developing cost estimates Understanding of the Emerson Ovation platform, including space, power and ground requirements
