Your Role:
Responsible for management of the A&NZ Property portfolio including the development and implementation of business strategies to achieve agreed planned growth and profitability targets. This position is the technical specialist resource consulting to the business on the Property product lines.
Your Responsibilities:
• Monitor production, profitability, new Business and retention targets so as to ensure that the portfolio is performing as per expectations, and take action to address any current or potential risks to delivery of target results.
• Ensure sustainable levels of profitability for the portfolio through the underwriting cycle
• Manage in cost effective way – focusing on expense efficiency
• Monitor and develop of the appropriate mix of products and distribution to achieve agreed strategic objectives
• Ensure that Property underwriting practices meet Chubb’s standards, through regular monitoring of underwriter performance and the proper implementation of peer review, underwriting audit and other quality control processes.
• Ensure that the levels of intermediary and customer service provided by the Property team are in line with any agreed standards and support Chubb’s reputation in the market as a professional and service-oriented company
• Achieve business goals in a cost effective and timely manner, implementing changes to business practices or procedures as necessary, whilst ensuring necessary risk management and compliance requirements are met
• Act as lead product ‘ambassador’, actively engaging both existing and prospective producers, clients and other relevant stakeholders to and promote Chubb’s Property products and services.
• Determine appropriate distribution channels and products to achieve desired growth and profit objectives
• Work in partnership with the Distribution Managers to recruit, train, develop and retain the talent necessary to achieve business plans.
• Review the level and proper use of underwriting authorities within the A&NZ Property team, recommending any necessary changes to management.
• Perform special projects and / or ad hoc tasks as assigned by management.
• A relevant tertiary qualification or the equivalent business experience.
• In-depth experience in underwriting and management as evidenced by a minimum of 8 years insurance experience with specialisation in Property.
• Demonstrated effective communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills so as to be capable of engaging with all levels of internal and external parties.
• Proven analytical skills necessary to judge the desirability of complex or unusual Property risks.
• Demonstrated ability to reduce complex material and situations into understandable training modules, along with the ability to act as mentor to underwriting staff.
• Strong working knowledge of sales processes and product marketing.
• Strong working knowledge of underwriting, product pricing and profitability metrics and drivers.
