Wells Fargo is seeking a Tax Analyst as part of the Indirect Property Tax team within Commercial Banking Operations (CBO). In this role, you will:
Perform moderately complex to complex tax accounting activities related to the preparation of state and local business personal property tax returns or the financial statement accounting for personal property taxes
Prepare comprehensive tax work papers, perform account analysis, and prepare responses to audit requests
Research memos or correspondence and embody and model compliance and risk management requirements for supported area
Exercise proficiency in accounting and multi-jurisdictional personal property tax laws, rules and regulations
Develop knowledge of state and local personal property tax laws, rulings, regulations and judicial decisions
Perform basic personal property tax research
Maintain records related to personal property tax returns and reports
Work with moderate to minimal supervision
Provide functional advice to less experienced staff
Consult on personal property tax related matters with lines of business and other control functions
Develop relationships with assigned business units related to the collection and analysis of information important to personal property tax accounting or compliance
Work with business partners to collect internal financial or tax data, perform data analysis, test for accuracy, identify and resolve data problems
Participate in projects
Communicate and provide consultation regularly with mid-level stakeholders companywide
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of Corporate Tax, Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
2+ years of Property tax experience
Knowledge and understanding of equipment finance and leasing
Knowledge and understanding of tax software such as Property Tax Management Software (PTMS) and Tax Research software (CCH, IRA)
Completion of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or CMI - Property Tax Certification
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) skills
A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting
Job Expectations:
Ability to work a hybrid schedule
Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening
