Description We are looking for a skilled Property Staff Accountant to join our team in Costa Mesa, California. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of multi-tenant industrial properties within the commercial real estate sector. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in property accounting and a strong understanding of financial processes such as journal entries, reconciliations, and consolidated reporting. Responsibilities: • Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records for multi-tenant industrial properties. • Perform monthly bank reconciliations to maintain consistency and accuracy in financial accounts. • Manage accrual accounting tasks to align with month-end close procedures. • Generate consolidated financial reports to provide a comprehensive overview of property performance. • Utilize property management software, such as Yardi or MRI, to streamline accounting processes. • Collaborate with the team to maintain general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with financial standards. • Support month-end close activities, including reviewing and adjusting entries as needed. • Assist in preparing documentation for audits and internal reviews. • Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions. • Ensure all accounting practices align with commercial property management requirements. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting within the commercial real estate sector. • Proficiency in property management software, such as Yardi or MRI. • Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and month-end close processes. • Experience with general ledger management and journal entries. • Ability to generate consolidated financial reports and perform financial analysis. • Familiarity with bank reconciliation procedures. • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with teams and stakeholders.
