Key Objective:
Reporting to the AVP, Field Claims Manager, the Field Adjuster is responsible for the direct and in person handling of personal and commercial line property claims of moderate to high severity and complexity in the Vancouver region. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to servicing our clients and promoting best class service in one of our most critical markets in Canada.
Major Responsibilities:
Attend loss locations in person, complete comprehensive scope and onsite estimate of damages
Complete timely and thorough claim assessment following loss inspection. Secure and/or file all supporting documentation and verify same for accuracy and completeness
Establish accurate and timely reserves
Exercise sound judgment in reaching final disposition of claim by evaluating nature of loss, damages, coverage provided and applicable limits
Seek technical assistance in handling claims exceeding delegated authority
Adhere to company best practices and meet or exceed compliance expectations
Meet and sustain file disposition metrics on a monthly basis
Exceptional communicate with Internal and External stakeholders
Effectively control the use, work product and expenses of outside vendors
Recognize recovery opportunities where applicable
Identify and elevate claims where indicators of suspicious activity are present
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in managing moderate to high complexity property claims or equivalent experience
Exceptional customer service and broker relationship skills
High level of initiative and desire to learn
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, bilingualism in French would be an asset
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to make independent decisions
Willingness to travel to service Chubb Clients outside of region in the event of a CAT
Must possess a valid driver’s license
