What this job involves:

Being the technical backbone As the Property Engineer, you'll be the technical expert in managing a multi-story apartment complex. You'll work closely with the property manager and the technical committee, overseeing all technical aspects of the building's operations. Your key responsibility will be to ensure the smooth functioning of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Beating the daily grind You'll manage day-to-day technical operations, conduct regular inspections, and implement preventive maintenance programs. This includes coordinating with contractors, responding to emergencies, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. You'll also be responsible for maintaining detailed technical documentation and training your team on best practices.

Creating an operation rhythm Your role involves establishing and maintaining efficient systems for all technical operations. From scheduling routine maintenance to planning major repairs, you'll need to balance immediate needs with long-term asset preservation. You'll also be expected to implement energy-efficient solutions and advise on technical improvements to enhance the property's value.

Going into the details Precision in technical management and budgeting is crucial. You'll oversee equipment inventories, manage warranties, and process technical invoices. Your accurate record-keeping and analysis will be vital for maintenance planning and capital expenditure forecasts. Additionally, you'll liaise with vendors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all technical standards and regulations.

We're seeking a property engineering professional with at least four years of experience in commercial or residential building management. You should have a degree/diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronic Engineering or a similar stream. Strong knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance strategies, and safety regulations is essential.

An active, team-oriented leader You must excel at managing technical teams, coordinating with contractors, and working alongside other departments. Your leadership should foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

A critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills As a technical expert, you'll need to diagnose complex issues, develop innovative solutions, and make sound decisions under pressure. Your analytical skills will be crucial in optimizing building systems and reducing operational costs.

Innovative and adaptable We need someone who can stay ahead of technological advancements in building management. Your expertise should inform creative approaches to energy efficiency, system upgrades, and predictive maintenance.

Technologically adept Strong proficiency in building management systems, MS applications, and other relevant software is essential. You should be comfortable with emerging technologies in property management and able to leverage them for improved service delivery.

Client-focused and safety-oriented You must excel at balancing technical requirements with resident comfort and safety. Your ability to communicate technical matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders is crucial.
