Property Accountant
Description Job Title: AR/AP Accountant Location: Onsite in Mountain View, CA Employment Type: Full-Time Job Description: We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized AR/AP Accountant to join our team in Mountain View, CA. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and general ledger (GL) accounting, along with experience utilizing property management and accounting software. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with systems such as Yardi, RealPage, RentCafe, Xero, or G2 and is comfortable thriving in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: + Manage accounts receivable (AR) processes, including invoicing, tenant charges, collections, and cash applications. + Handle accounts payable (AP) processes, including vendor setup, invoice coding, approvals, and timely payment processing. + Actively engage in general ledger (GL) activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close. + Ensure accurate recording and tracking of financial transactions related to properties. + Collaborate with property managers to address AR/AP discrepancies, tenant billing issues, and lease-related financial inquiries. + Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and aged AR/AP reports. + Maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations, including audits and financial reviews. + Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in AR/AP processes and implement best practices. + Use Yardi, RealPage, RentCafe, Xero, Appfolio or G2 to manage and streamline accounting operations. Requirements Qualifications: + 3+ years of experience in AR/AP or general accounting + 2+ years of experience in the property management industry + Experience with property management/accounting software such as Yardi, RealPage, RentCafe, Xero, or G2 is required. + Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and data analysis. + Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping. + Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
