Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will manage financial operations related to construction and real estate projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and government regulations. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with project teams and contribute to the successful financial management of various initiatives. Responsibilities: • Prepare monthly invoice packages for billable projects, ensuring all necessary documentation is included. • Conduct monthly accounting meetings with project management teams to review forecasts and billing schedules. • Set up new projects in accounting systems and maintain updated spreadsheets. • Investigate variances in project budgets and submit detailed variance reports to management. • Generate and file government reports and tax returns associated with construction projects. • Coordinate and oversee project-related billings to clients, ensuring timely approval and submission. • Review project budgets, including fee structures, staffing plans, and work schedules. • Perform audits to ensure smooth cash flow by promptly generating and dispatching invoices. Requirements • Proven experience in account reconciliation, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations. • Proficiency in managing general ledger activities and preparing journal entries. • Strong skills in month-end close processes and financial reporting. • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. • Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP. • Ability to work collaboratively with teams and manage multiple tasks effectively. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in financial operations.
