Description We are looking for a skilled Property Accountant to join our team for a contract to hire position. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a dynamic environment, and has experience managing accounting tasks for multiple properties. Responsibilities: • Prepare and process journal entries for up to eight properties, ensuring accuracy and completeness. • Oversee all aspects of accounting, including maintaining financial records and reconciling accounts. • Generate month-end entries and compile comprehensive financial statements. • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and insights for decision-making. • Review lease agreements to ensure compliance with financial policies and accuracy. • Support the enhancement of accounting processes by contributing to documentation and improvement initiatives. • Provide technical accounting expertise to meet deadlines and maintain operational efficiency. • Collaborate with teams to align budgeting and financial planning with organizational goals. Requirements • Minimum of three years of accounting experience, preferably in property accounting, with a focus on detail-oriented work. • Proficiency in managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. • Solid understanding of accrual accounting principles and practices. • Experience with journal entry preparation and account coding. • Familiarity with Yardi Voyager software is preferred but not required. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
