Overview:
A new private equity real estate firm is seeking a skilled Property Accountant to join their team. This role is ideal for a finance professional with real estate experience who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting and is looking to make a long-term impact as the firm scales.

What You'll Do:
You'll take ownership of the financial reporting process for a portfolio of income-generating properties, ensuring accurate and timely reporting while also supporting strategic financial functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee monthly close for assigned properties, ensuring timely and accurate reportingRecord and reconcile financial transactions including journal entries and adjustmentsMaintain tenant receivable records and monitor collectionsReconcile cash accounts and oversee banking activityManage property accounts payable, including vendor setup and invoice processingMaintain and update general ledger account schedules and accrual entriesProduce monthly reporting packages with variance analysisSupport preparation of financial data for investor distributions and lender reportingAssist with external audits and year-end reporting requirementsContribute to ad hoc financial analysis and internal projects as needed

What You Bring:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)5+ years of progressive accounting experience within real estate or property managementExperience with accounting for senior living assets is a plusYardi experience is strongly preferredA strong foundation in accounting principles and internal controlsSelf-motivated and detail-oriented with strong organizational skillsAbility to work autonomously and communicate financial data clearlyEagerness to take on new responsibilities in a growth-driven environment
