General Statement

We are seeking a mission-aligned Promotions Video Producer to join our Marketing and Communications team. This position is responsible for creating short-form promotional video content, including interstitial spots for broadcast on Montana PBS and marketing spots for web and social media.
Beyond content creation, the Promotions Video Producer performs a number of administrative duties, including supervising a small student staff and coordinating live studio television events and on-location film shoots. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of creative projects while developing and refining a full suite of video production skills in a professional, collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate will bring creative and editorial leadership that upholds Montana PBS’s distinguished reputation for high-quality content production in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities
● Create original video spots for broadcast and web that promote Montana PBS programming and initiatives, using a full range of film production skills—including scriptwriting, coordinating shoots and voiceover sessions, on-location and studio filming, setting up lighting and audio, editing, finishing, and final delivery—under the guidance of the Director of Marketing and Communication.
● Manage and train student employees to assist with interstitial and promotional content creation
● Oversee daily localization and repackaging of promotional elements
● Coordinate and oversee the production of periodic interstitial segments, including Tonight’s Lineups, Birthdays, and Pets Club spots
● Produce, crew, and coordinate live fundraising events
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Film & Television or a closely related field OR progressively responsible professional experience in lieu of a degree.
+ Strong storytelling skills, with an ability to craft compelling narratives.
+ Proficiency in post-production, including video editing, motion graphics, asset management, file organization, and finishing tasks such as color correction, audio mixing, and captioning.
+ Hands-on experience with professional television production equipment, including cameras, lighting, field audio, routers, live studio equipment.
+ Excellent writing and communication skills.
+ Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
+ Understanding of professional broadcast workflows and distribution processes.
+ Ability to thrive in a high-energy, collaborative, and deadline-driven setting.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
+ Experience working in Public Television
+ Experience editing short form narrative promotional content, such as film trailers
+ Familiarity with public television programming and mission
+ Familiarity with online fundraising tools
+ Leadership capacity

Position Special Requirements/Additional Information
Must possess a valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and meet all State of Montana requirements to operate State/University vehicles. (If successful candidate possesses a valid out-of-state driver’s license, must obtain a valid Montana driver’s license within 60 days of hire.)

Production schedules will vary and may require work on evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Remote productions may require significant in-state travel.
