As a Projects HSE Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance of our operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective HSE programs and initiatives. Your expertise in risk assessment, incident investigation, and regulatory compliance will contribute to creating a safe and sustainable work environment.
You will report directly to our Sr. HSE Engineer, and you'll work out of our site in Orillia, ON on a hybrid work schedule. Extensive travel may be necessary as the project will take place throughout the province of Ontario.
**In this role, you will impact the organization by:**
• Developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures
• Conducting risk assessments and identifying potential hazards
• Leading incident investigations and implementing corrective actions
• Ensuring compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations, as well as customer requirements
• Acting as liaison between the customer and Honeywell
• Providing appropriate reports to the customer
• Delivering HSE training and awareness programs to employees
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in HSE performance
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
• Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures
• Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations
• Provide HSE training and awareness programs to employees
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in HSE performance
**YOU MUST HAVE**
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field **or** 5+ years of equivalent work experience
• 3+ years of experience in an HSE role in utility or construction
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time within Canada and possibly the US
**WE VALUE**
• Professional certification in HSE (e.g., CSP, CIH)
• Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal HSE regulations and standards
• Experience in field work environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
