Job Description:

The Electronics business unit is seeking a Project Team Leader (PTL) to manage various capital projects typically ranging from $200K to $8M. The desired location is Newark, DE. This role will report to the Newark Site Engineering Lead for E&I. Successful candidates would be expected to manage multiple projects with support from the E&I leveraged business engineering team and full-service design contractors (FSDC) and/or selected design-build providers.

Role Responsibilities:

Ensure all non-capital alternatives to capital expenditure are evaluatedAccountable to the business for project successUse Business Objectives Letter or charter to reach management consensusAccountable for acquiring and releasing all project resourcesEstablish effective communications within the Integrated Project Team to insure alignment on objectivesDirect development of R&R for the project and project RACI diagramsManage overall project expenditures and schedule to satisfy BOLSet Project Leadership Team (PLT) overall direction and expectationsManage "Management of Change" procedureAccountable for overall integrated project scheduleAccountable for total project cost and investmentProvide primary interface between the PLT and the Business Unit Steering TeamDrive capital project work processes and practices per DuPont project methodologiesDirect all Gatekeeping reviews and ensure all project deliverables are metDirect development and validation of project economics

Strong leadership skills

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasksUnderstanding of business, technology, and manufacturing work processesExcellent communication skillsUnderstanding of functions and disciplines required for capital project executionOverall understanding of project process from FEL-1 through check out and startup and of the DuPont Global Project SystemUnderstanding of DuPont capital and non-capital funding practices, appropriation rules, and project control techniquesBasic understanding of manufacturing technology/processes, plant operations, and maintenance strategiesConflict resolution skills

Desired Skill Sets / Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline – Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, preferred.5 to 10 years’ experience in Manufacturing, Construction or Engineering design requiredExperience managing 3rd party contractors / suppliersPrior experience working as a project team leader or project manager.Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.

Other Job Considerations

Travel as needed to manage project scope.  This can include design reviews at off-site locations, vendor meetings or shop visits, tours of sister sites/processes, contractor selection and/or bid meetings, and other travel as dictated by project needs. In the future, the role may grow into business leveraged PTL expected to lead projects at other sites beyond Newark with associated travel.
