Project Specialist - Logistics (Day Shift)

Your role at Clorox:

Work Days: Monday - Friday
Work Hours: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm

The Project Specialist is responsible for leading all activities involving Logistics systems - e.g., the TRACC platform, Vista, and Warehouse Management - utilizing continuous improvement (CI) methodologies and best practices. The Specialist ensures that improvement goals are set, objectives are achieved, results are analyzed, and deadlines are met. Acting as SME for continuous improvement tools and systems, the Specialist spearheads employee on-the-job technical skill training in service of continuous improvement goals. The Specialist is also responsible for logistics process expertise and associated tasks such as cycle counting and materials ordering critical to production.

In this role, you will:

Participate in all safety initiatives within the facility.Support and uphold all GMP and housekeeping standards.Understand the process of receiving and shipping all inbound and outbound materials to the main plant and any offsite warehouses.Fully understand the process flow and theory of operations of key unit ops (specifically palletizing, depalletizing, and stretch wrapping).Implement, update, and sustain logistics systems, processes, CI methodologies, and techniques to accelerate improvement in safety, quality, and manufacturing metrics.Deploy and continuously improve "best practices" within the logistics department.Support the line manager in changes at the frontline. Ensures ongoing education of all employees in the logistics department.Lead training, implementation and team ownership of Warehouse Management system and Vista project.Develop other fork truck operators through trainings, seminars, coaching, and documentation development.Provide daily support to the logistics team to ensure business goals are met.Act as a fill in for vacations or absences as required by the business.Perform physical cycle counts on all raw and packaging materials.Maintain/File all inventory control documents.Investigate any discrepancies in inventory and correct as needed.Order and manage the inventory of secondary materials that are critical to logistic and plant operations.Maintain a forklift license to move and organize material as needed.Operate palletizing, depalletizing, stretch wrapping equipment, and bulk and railcar unloading.

What we look for:

Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experienceHigh school diploma or equivalent; Some college preferredStrong commitment to safety and qualityKnowledge of warehousing and manufacturing operationsExperience with SAP or another warehouse management system; implementation experience is a plusAbility to operate forklifts and high-speed manufacturing equipmentFamiliarity with cycle counting and inventory processesDemonstrate leadership skills, ability to work independently and in teams.Need to have a hands-on approach when working with operatorsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to communicate clearly and distinctly (oral and written) with peers and supervisorsFlexibility to work all shifts and travel to offsite warehouses as neededDemonstrate ability to manage multiple high-priority itemsSelf-starter with a desire to "Learn-Do-Teach"Ability to facilitate workshops and to customize specialty site needs

Starting Base Pay: $33.14 / hour
