Job Description
Join an intricate 14-month underground construction initiative, with a high likelihood of extension, valued between $50 million and $80 million. This project involves the construction of underground civil infrastructure, installation of a bulk material handling system, and development of critical support systems. The fast-paced and dynamic environment demands flexible and adaptive scheduling strategies, emphasizing proactive planning.
ResponsibilitiesParticipate in project decision-making related to cost control and scheduling.Supervise project planners and ensure alignment between site activities and progress tracking systems.Conduct field tours to verify schedule accuracy and on-site progress reporting.Integrate data from all disciplines into a comprehensive project schedule.Analyze and report on project progress using tools such as Critical Path Method (CPM) and Earned Value Management (EVM).Maintain and update the project schedule, capturing impacts of completed and delayed work.Perform resource loading and leveling, and conduct what-if scenario analyses.Evaluate changes in construction sequencing and delays, assessing their impact on project timelines.Provide input to discipline leads on priority workstreams and implement corrective action plans based on schedule analysis.Prepare cost and schedule proposals for change orders.Assist in tracking project job costs, forecasting, revenue, and cash flow.Support the preparation of payment applications to the client.Monitor and report on critical path activities and any deviations affecting project delivery.Perform other related duties as required to support project success.Essential SkillsHeavy Civil construction experience, particularly with projects involving bulk material handling systems and large conveyor systems.Strong Primavera P6 skills, with an emphasis on resource loading and Level 5 scheduling.3-8 years of scheduling experience within heavy construction, with a preference for 5+ years.Experience with rules of credit and managing multiple activities and tasks.Proficiency in Critical Path Analysis.Necessary construction experience as the site can be demanding.Additional Skills & QualificationsCost control experience, particularly with inEight systems.Work Environment
The site is located in Sudbury. Work is predominantly remote, with on-site requirements once every two weeks from Tuesday to Thursday. Mileage expenses and accommodation are provided when on-site. The successful candidate will directly oversee two individuals and work alongside 10-12 others on site, including department heads, construction trades, and planners.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
