Summary/Objective: Freedman by Lippert is a leading manufacturer of transportation seating products (bus, railway, marine and commercial truck seats). Located on the west side of Chicago, we have been in business for over 130 years. We are seeking to hire a Sales Engineer for our train/railway business market. As the Sales Engineer, your role is multi-faceted. You will be responsible for managing the life of projects from beginning to end, with both internal and external stakeholders. Essential Functions: Freedman by Lippert designs and manufactures passenger seats for the transportation industry. We are seeking to add to our team that currently supports our train/railway business market. Lead the planning and implementation of projects Define project tasks and resource requirements Track project milestones and deliverables Estimate and coordinate the resources and departments needed to achieve project goals Set and continually manage project expectations with internal and external stakeholders Proactively manage changes in the project scope, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies Conduct project reviews by reflecting on current projects to help improve future projects Customer-facing relationship with customers Manage project audits conducted by customers Communicating project status to stakeholders To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Physical Demands: This position varies in activity. It will include working with team members on the production floor, completing work at an assigned office space, and potentially visiting customers and vendors to support as needed. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time salary position, and hours/days of work are decided by production schedules and your reporting manager. This position is located at Freedman by Lippert, in Chicago, IL. Pay Range: $85,000 - $100,000 per year Freedman by Lippert determines pay based on several factors, including but not limited to the position being offered, education, skills, work experience, and other factors permitted by law. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. Preferred Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s degree required. Business, Engineering, or similar preferred. Manufacturing background/experience a plus Project Management experience is a bonus Strong analysis & problem-solving skills Exceptional listening skills along with strong written and oral communication skills Ability to travel domestically and internationally if needed.
