Job Responsibilities:
To conduct daily health, safety, and environmental inspections, prepare reports and follow up with the main contractor for closure. To inspect and verify if the main contractor had implemented appropriate safety measures in accordance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act, CAAS. To inspect and verify that the works on site are executed with approved permits and ensure main contractor maintain safety, cleanliness, and tidiness of the worksite. To immediately contact the Superintending Officer if situations are found that, in the opinion of the Safety Manager, require immediate rectification or the stopping of any operation. To verify contractor's daily work declaration, carry out targeted inspections, onsite intervention of unsafe activities and respond to site incident(s) in ensuring contractor carry out emergency response as required. To provide standing supervision for critical construction works where required. To immediately contact the Superintending Officer and Duty Manager of the incidents and provide real-time situation update including facts of the incident. To provide daily inspection report to Project Team.
Job Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the construction industry preferably 3 years with developer/main contractor. Minimum 2 years of experience in tunneling and/or deep excavation works. Must be a registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer with MOM. Has obtained certificate in development of a Risk Management Implementation Plan (bizSAFE Level 2) or equivalent. Has obtained certificate in DfS appreciation course.
