The Manager Project MFO & Benchmarking plays a pivotal role in advancing Chevron’s capital project performance by leading benchmarking initiatives across business units. This role ensures consistent application of internal benchmarking standards and collaborates with external agencies for industry data. This role will be instrumental in driving performance improvement through data-driven insights, industry comparisons, and best practice integration. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in project controls, estimating, and capital project systems, with a strong understanding of benchmarking tools and methodologies. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: + Lead the execution of benchmarking strategies across major capital and site-based projects. + Serve as the central point of contact for all project benchmarking activities across Chevron sites + Coordinate with external benchmarking agencies (e.g., IPA) to collect, analyze, and report benchmarking data for projects over $20MM and site portfolio benchmarking + Lead the development and implementation of benchmarking protocols, including data collection, interview coordination, and reporting results to company leaders + Support project selection efforts with data + Input into Project Process Procedures updates + Support and or lead project assurance reviews and capital commitment processes with benchmarking insights + Provide training and guidance to project teams on benchmarking tools and methodologies + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of benchmarking with project controls, estimating, scheduling practices, FEL index, and project staffing + Manage relationships with external benchmarking partners (e.g., IPA) and represent the company in industry consortia (e.g., IBC, CEC) + Oversee deployment of benchmarking tools such as the FEL Toolbox and Site Portfolio Tool (SPT) for projects <$20MM + Analyze project performance using CEI, SEI, PCI, and other industry-standard metrics + Develop dashboards and reports to communicate benchmarking insights to senior leadership + Coordinate staffing evaluations + Support assurance reviews and post-investment evaluations to identify gaps and improvement opportunities + Collaborate with project teams to embed benchmarking insights into planning and execution phases **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field. + Minimum 15 years of experience in project controls, with strong exposure to benchmarking, estimating, and scheduling + Experience in a central project management group working across function-centered matrix structures and project-centered matrix structures + Deep understanding of the stage gate Project Execution Process and competitive benchmarking strategies + Strong knowledge/expertise with construction and/or turnaround projects + Experience working in capital-intensive industries such as refining or petrochemicals + Proficiency in financial/accounting systems + Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders + Experience with IPA benchmarking tools and consortia (e.g., IBC, CEC) + SME with FEL Toolbox and Site Portfolio Tool (SPT) + Ability to synthesize technical and financial data to identify performance trends and improvement opportunities + Proficiency in interpreting and applying benchmarking metrics such as: + Cost Effectiveness Index (CEI) + Schedule Effectiveness Index (SEI) + Project Control Index (PCI) + Operability Index + Cost and schedule predictability + FEL index **Relocation Options:** Relocation is not offered for this role.
