JD: Release Manager Key Responsibilities: • Own and manage the end-to-end release lifecycle across multiple environments including Dev, QA, UAT, Pre-Prod, and Production. • Collaborate with engineering, QA, DevOps, and product teams to plan, schedule, coordinate, and deliver releases across applications and platforms. • Establish and govern release policies, processes, and communication protocols to ensure consistent and auditable delivery. • Maintain a detailed release calendar, environment matrix, and change window documentation; ensure alignment with business timelines. • Lead release readiness reviews, manage Go/No-Go decisions, and track post-release metrics like rollback rate, change success rate, and lead time. • Coordinate with DevOps for CI/CD pipeline integration, tagging, and artifact promotion across stages. • Enforce version control policies, handle branching and merging conflicts, and assist in hotfix and patch management. • Support incident management, including participation in root cause analysis (RCA) for release-related failures. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for reducing deployment risks, improving rollback mechanisms, and optimizing release frequency and velocity. • Track and publish release metrics (deployment success/failure rates, cycle time, defects per release, etc.) and improve release health via retrospectives. • Communicate release status and impacts effectively to stakeholders including leadership, development, QA, and business teams. Experience: • 8–12 years of overall experience in the software development or operations lifecycle, with at least 4+ years specifically in release management or DevOps-related roles. • Experience managing releases across multiple applications, environments, and globally distributed teams. • Proven track record of owning release processes in Agile/Scrum or SAFe-based delivery models. • Strong experience coordinating with multiple cross-functional teams (development, QA, DevOps, product, support). • Hands-on experience with version control systems (Git), CI/CD tooling, and release governance tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow). • Demonstrated ability to operate in regulated domains (e.g., banking, insurance, healthcare) with attention to audit trails, compliance, and traceability. • Exposure to release automation, deployment orchestration, and metrics-driven continuous improvement is highly desirable.
