The Opportunity

Our location in Columbus, OH, currently has an opportunity for a Logistics Project Manager

WHAT YOU’LL DO  

Propose and implement logistics solutions for customers.Apply logistics modeling techniques to address issues such as operational process improvement and network designEvaluate the use of technology to maximize distribution center efficiency and proposed solutionsDevelop logistics and distribution metrics, internal analysis tools, or key performance indicators for business units.Assist leadership in the identification of improvement projects to include cost reduction, cycle time reduction and waste eliminationDefine OpEx goals, project plans and coordinate project teams, ensuring that projects are integrated with business strategies.Assist in the technical deployment of OpEx.Perform statistical analysisComplete value stream mapping and process optimization studiesEvaluate effectiveness of logistics policies, processes and procedures and develop as applicable.Work closely with Packaging, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and IT to streamline and improve flow.Resolves and/or facilitates resolution of problems including identifying causes to prevent re-occurrence.Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.Communicate OpEx briefings to senior leadership teams.Drive benchmarking and sharing of best practices internally and with other Abbott locations worldwide.Incorporate OpEx practices into systems, processes, and protocols.Deliver training on lean tools and OpEx initiatives.Lead Kaizen eventsPartner with other functions within Abbott Nutrition to maximize opportunities for improvements and to build a sustainable OpEx program across the Supply ChainSupport all company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.Performs related functions and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Logistics4+ years of logistics experienceStrong knowledge of standard office desktop computer applications such as Excel, Access, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

Preferred:

Experience with Lean tools and methodologyStrong creative and strategic thinkerMulti-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely mannerStrong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountableStrong project management skillsAbility to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environmentStrong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business resultsAbility to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environmentStrong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization

The base pay for this position is $75,300.00 – $150,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
