WHAT'S THE JOB?
Join our Healthcare Support Services Leadership team, where our people are driven by a desire to innovate, do social good, and move patient care to the next level.

As the Project Manager – Building Renovation & Lifecycle, you will report to the Senior Operations Manager and be responsible for managing and executing healthcare infrastructure projects within a hospital environment. This role requires project management expertise, strong communication with internal teams and external contractors, and a firm understanding of healthcare standards such as IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control).

You will oversee renovations, upgrades, and lifecycle projects—including managing subcontractors, coordinating with cleaning and operational teams, and ensuring safety and compliance are upheld throughout project execution. Experience with P3 (Public-Private Partnership) environments and lifecycle budget management (e.g., boiler replacement, fixture upgrades) is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Lead project delivery in an active hospital setting, adhering to IPAC standards and minimizing disruption to healthcare operationsDevelop, monitor, and manage project schedules and budgetsDocument project scope, before/after progress photos, and communicate scope changes to the client promptlyHandle all change orders, including negotiation, cost/schedule impact assessment, and implementationCoordinate with contractors and internal teams, including Environmental Services, for safe executionConduct quarterly documentation audits across departments; lead corrective actions for complianceManage contracts for non-FM operational service providers (including renewal timelines and vendor alternatives)Support bid development for new business opportunities in the Northwest TerritoriesFacilitate department-level strategic initiatives in partnership with department managersDelegate tasks across cross-functional teams to ensure timely and quality project execution

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in project management or a related field5+ years of project management experience, ideally in healthcare or complex facility environmentsExperience working in environments such as hospitals, including awareness of infection control protocolsFamiliarity with P3 contracts and lifecycle infrastructure planningStrong proficiency in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and VisioPMP certification is considered an assetEffective communication skills with a proactive approach to client and stakeholder managementExperience working with all levels of government is preferred
