Role Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for delivering customer orders on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards. This role encompasses the full project lifecycle—from contract award through execution, shipment, and final documentation. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring requirements are clearly defined, communicated, and met. Success in this role requires meticulous planning, proactive problem-solving, and strong collaboration across internal departments and external stakeholders. A customer-centric mindset and a results-driven approach are essential to gaining customer confidence and ensuring project success.
Responsibilities:
Review contracts to ensure requirements are defined, documented, and aligned with organizational capabilities.
Ensure successful delivery of contractual specifications, schedules, and quality standards for both products and purchased materials.
Serve as the primary communication link between the customer, sales, and internal departments, facilitating timely resolution of discrepancies or technical issues.
Communicate contractual requirements, obligations, and changes across the organization.
Manage project financial performance, including gross margin, cash flow, working capital, and cost of poor quality, while reporting on progress in line with finance guidelines.
Oversee accurate preparation and release of project-related documentation, such as bills of material, specifications, routing, schedules, and engineering changes.
Ensure timely release and submission of engineering documentation to support project schedules and customer payment milestones.
Maintain up-to-date contract status, communicate progress to customers, and remove barriers to ensure on-time delivery.
Manage and negotiate change orders, ensuring all parties understand impacts to cost and schedule.
Coordinate customer and third-party inspections, witness visits, and in-process checks with internal teams and suppliers.
Collaborate with engineering, sales, planning, purchasing, accounting, and manufacturing to meet project requirements.
Ensure compliance with Engineering Standards and ISO 9001 procedures.
Support site activities, including supervision, Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Strong ability to read, interpret, and negotiate legal contracts, engineering specifications, and technical documents.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and business correspondence.
Proficiency in mathematics, including calculations related to engineering, costs, and financials.
Strong reasoning skills to analyze complex problems, identify relevant factors, and draw valid conclusions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and familiarity with common office technology.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Experience in project management within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of wet seal and dry gas seal systems, as well as engineering, fabrication, and project execution processes.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and build strong customer relationships.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
