**Description**
**Summary Description** : The Project Manager, part of the Control Systems department within BITS, is responsible for supporting and advancing NCEC’s Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) and broader Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure. This position oversees a diverse portfolio of projects focused on DERMS development, Distributed Energy Resource (DER) and Demand Response (DR) integration, and other OT initiatives.
**Academic and Trade Qualifications** : A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electric Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
**Work Experience** : Minimum of 2 years of professional experience, including project management and technical support for DERMS, DER/DR integration, and/or EMS/SCADA systems. Experience with OATI DERMS, GE EMS, AVEVA PI/CONNECT, SEL RTAC, or HMI systems is highly desirable.
**Responsibilities** :
+ Lead and manage cross-departmental projects involving DERMS, DER/DR integration, and other control systems
+ Plan, coordinate, and support system upgrades, patching schedules, and infrastructure improvements in collaboration with internal and external parties
+ Support and manage the integration of new DER/DR resources, including telemetry validation, system configuration, device enrollment and control capabilities testing
+ Interface directly with consultants and vendors to define technical requirements, manage deliverables, and oversee milestone tracking, budget, and billing
+ Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including upper management, to ensure alignment and transparency
+ Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system requirements, test plans, user guides, and integration standards
+ Develop and maintain tools for system analysis, performance tracking, and reporting
+ Maintain detailed technical knowledge of NCEMC’s Operational Technology (OT) and Generation & Transmission (G&T) operations
+ Ensure compliance with cybersecurity protocols and regulatory mandates (e.g., NERC CIP)
**Job Knowledge** :
+ Solid understanding of the power and energy industry, including the Generation & Transmission (G&T) cooperative business model
+ Familiarity with project management methodologies, such as Agile and the full project life cycle
+ Strong knowledge of power engineering, including distribution systems, power flow, generation, and DER/DR integration
+ Good knowledge in technologies used in Operational Technology (OT) environments, such as metering, SCADA, industrial protocols, and control schemes
+ Working knowledge with SQL, Databricks, Power BI, and Python is desirable

+ Ability to work collaboratively to analyze, diagnose, and resolve technical issues.
+ Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines effectively
+ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop, implement, and follow through on effective solutions
+ Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to develop presentations and reports
**Relationships and Contacts** : Reports to Director of Control Systems with external interaction with EMC Members and Vendors, Consultants and Contractors
**Working Conditions** :
+ Occasional in-state travel required.
+ Hybrid work arrangement: on-site attendance at NCEC’s location required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
