YOUR ROLE
As Project Manager on our team, you will lead the design and manufacturing teams through the Aptiv development and industrialization process. Part of your job will be to support current production projects in ‘end of life’ components issues, design changes and cost improvement initiatives. The Project Manager will oversee initial plans, set milestones, track project activities and communicate project progress to stakeholders. Work cross-functionally to establish working relationships within the company and act as the main contact with customers.
In your daily job you will:
Be responsible for achieving flawless launches (i.e. full ownership to deliver programs on-time, with quality and in-charge of profitability)Act as the program life cycle owner; bring strategy and holistic approachSupport current production projects in end of life component situations, design changes and cost improvement initiativesDrive appropriate reviews/escalations, risk identification and mitigation, remove roadblocksBe owner of customer design change requests (lead quote preparation process) and later execute implementationBe responsible for supporting achievement of profitability for your assigned projectsSecure budget approvals/creations on time for project executionAct as customer contact for regular management communication and escalationBe responsible for credits tracking from owned projectsSupervise prototypes coordination with dedicated team membersSupport customer management (especially in critical situations)Support new business development activities/pursuits
YOUR BACKGROUND
Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent technical field3+ years' experience in project/program management or equivalent field in automotive industryAbility to work effectively with people at all levels in an organizationExcellent oral/written communication skills with strong ability to work with global cross-functional teamsStrong results-orientation and execution characteristicsResourcefully innovative and adapts in a rapidly changing environmentAbility to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independentlyKnowledge of Automotive OEM processes, and development cyclesStrong and demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to lead, coach and mentor team membersProficient ability to interact with all levels of managementTrack record of successfully completing projects on time within specifications despite obstacles which arise during such new programsVersed in problem-solving skills; ability to drive corrective actions with minimal directionManages the customers' technical requirements and change order expectationsProficient in MS-Office suite and MS-ProjectFinancial knowledge/business acumenFluent English is a mustWHY JOIN US?
