Job Description
Reporting to the Global Business Manager, this position is responsible for successfully planning, controlling, and managing a program for an assigned account which requires the commitment of significant skills and resources on a global basis.
The Project Manager acts as liaison between the company and the client on all interactions on numerous projects from request to quote, to integration, validation and approval at the customer site.
To ensure that customer satisfaction is met, he or she manages the details of overall project schedules, and budgets. The Project Manager manages the efforts of team members and third party vendors. Usually involves extensive interaction with sales, engineering, product development, operations, and other members of cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products to clients. Organizes the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. The duties will also require proposal and estimate generation, client negotiations, contract review and sub-contractor communications.
Plans and directs schedules and may monitor budget/spending. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery. Organizes the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project on schedule and within budget constraints. Establishes milestones and monitor adherence to program master plans and schedules. Develop control systems and report data accurately to measure progress, identify potential problems in sufficient time for corrective action to be taken, and ensure the meeting of commitments. Responsible for customer negotiations and final definition of the Allen-Bradley scope of work. Also responsible for negotiations involving various suppliers (other A-B Divisions), equipment vendors (factored products) and sub-system suppliers. Acts as primary contact for status and performance. Establishes strong customer relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Acts as primary contact for project status and performance.
Main commercial lead and owner for assigned panel platforms.
Identify and lead projects related to new products, business system improvement, and business growth.
Establish and maintain milestones and project plans.
Contribute to the business plan to attain group objectives.
Build strong customer relationships and assist sales with pro-actively addressing customer issues.
Support and promote continuous improvement activities. Evaluates and implements new systems, processes, and methodologies as appropriate.
Develop and participate in strategic planning.
Coach team members.
Act on behalf of manager or any other department members as backup when needed.
Serve as assigned on task forces and special committees. Lead and/or facilitate these groups
Responsible for planning/controlling total project costs. Responsible for ensuring that costs match scope of work and reflect all change orders to meet customer requirements.
Responsible for managing project schedule and communicating with different segments of the company as projects transition from commercial, to engineering to manufacturing.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor degree in Engineering
-5 years experience in similar position
-Project management in manufacturing environment
