Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Project Manager to join our Mobility Global Business Area (GBA). You will manage the delivery of projects to meet time, quality, budgetary, and health and safety targets. You will also oversee all aspects of the client relationship to ensure that delivery meets or exceeds client expectations.

Role accountabilities:

In this role, you will lead and support project leads and key staff in the delivery of rail and transit projects, including commuter rail, bus rapid transit, and light rail. You will be responsible for preparing project status reports for review with the Senior Project Manager and advising on corrective actions if project performance does not meet Key Performance Metrics. You will also continually monitor and manage project costs, including procurement, labour, and other expenditures, to ensure alignment with the project budget. Regular reporting of progress will be required to document the advancement of the project.

As a project manager, you will coordinate the development of project packages, which include the scope of work, supporting documentation, and cost estimates. You will maintain oversight of the commercial aspects of the project, such as contracts, invoicing, debt management, and client relations. In this role, you will also be responsible for building and managing relationships with key stakeholder groups, including municipalities, provincial agencies, transit agencies, and utilities. You will plan and facilitate workshops, meetings, and focus groups using in-person, virtual, or hybrid methods as appropriate.

Additionally, you will support change management and operational readiness activities as required, contributing to the development of strategies, plans, and tactics. Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations and guidelines will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will coordinate with the project Quality and Safety Manager to confirm that appropriate measures are in place to meet quality and safety objectives and to ensure effective project control throughout the lifecycle of each assignment.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s University Degree in Engineering from an accredited university Hold a Professional Engineering License in the Province of Ontario 5+ years progressive and demonstratable experience managing/leading rail and transit projects in a large matrix organization, interface with technical leads and stakeholder engagement Knowledge in alternate project delivery (P3, DB), and experience in teaming arrangements with contractors and consultant

Preferred Qualifications: 

PMP and/or CCMP or Prosci certifications Previous work within a consulting environment & knowledge of the transit, transportation, urban planning sector

The salary range for this position is $78,000 - $134,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
