Do you have strong project management skills, extensive logistics expertise international freight (air, ocean, parcel) and domestic transportation operations? This role requires a customer-focused approach to drive operational excellence throughout the supply chain. This is a hybrid role, and you will be expected to work from our Richardson, TX office at least twice a week, usually Tuesdays and Thursdays. Local candidates will be preferred.
How You'll Help Us Connect the World:
The Global Transportation Project Manager will lead and support transportation initiatives that align with the company’s sales strategies and customer delivery needs. This role involves developing and managing cross-functional projects supporting special programs for customers, while optimizing international and domestic transportation networks, enhancing service levels, cutting costs, and ensuring adherence to global trade regulations.
Responsibilities:
Lead transportation projects that support sales growth, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency across global markets.
Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Distribution, and Supply Chain teams to understand customer delivery expectations and translate them into actionable transportation solutions.
Manage end-to-end project lifecycles, including planning, execution, risk mitigation, and post-implementation review.
Identify and implement transportation solutions that meet cost, service, and quality targets, including mode optimization, carrier selection, and route planning.
Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external logistics providers to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
Monitor and report on project performance, KPIs, and milestones to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Support RFI/RFQ/RFP processes and vendor negotiations in collaboration with Procurement and Global Transportation teams.•
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
Required Qualifications for Consideration:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field Strong understanding of international freight (air, ocean, parcel) and domestic transportation operations. Proven experience managing cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, global manufacturing environment. Experience working with freight forwarders, carriers, and 3PLs. Experience supporting sales or customer-facing logistics initiatives. Knowledge of bonded transportation, Incoterms, and customs compliance. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
You Will Excite Us If You Have:
PMP certification is a plus. Familiarity with ERP and TMS systems (SAP and SAP TM preferred). Data analysis and reporting skills using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools. Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and external partners. Demonstrated contract negotiation skills.
