Introduction


We are seeking a Project Manager – Bulk Material Handling (BMH) to join our Grinding, Bulk, Pyro and Smelting (GBPS) Proposals and Project Management team. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Engineered-to-Order (ETO) projects, ensuring successful execution in alignment with Metso’s global processes, tools, and governance frameworks. Your role plays a crucial part in delivering high-impact equipment solutions to our mining clients, which will positively impact project performance and customer satisfaction. In this position, you will report to the Director of Project Management.

 

This position is mainly located in Pittsburgh, PA, and we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.




Team you belong to:

 

You will join a team of project management professionals dedicated to delivering complex projects with a focus on bulk material handling systems. We are currently executing small to medium-scale mining equipment projects involving feeders, railcar dumpers, stackers & reclaimers, and material processing systems. We work closely with internal stakeholders such as Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Field Services. Our team culture is collaborative, quality-driven, and customer-focused. Team members are located across various global locations.

 


What you’ll do:

 

Lead the full lifecycle of complex industrial projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations, contracts, and internal standards. Deliver projects that meet or exceed safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance targets. Implement robust scope and change control processes to manage deviations and mitigate risks. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. Provide oversight and support during the warranty phase to ensure timely issue resolution. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution. Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.

 


Who you are:

 

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mining, or related discipline). Minimum of 12 years of experience managing complex greenfield and brownfield equipment delivery projects. At least 5 years of experience in bulk material handling systems within mining or mineral processing. In-depth knowledge of apron feeders, conveyors, stackers, reclaimers, and port handling systems. PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable. Proficiency in SAP or equivalent ERP systems, MS Project, and other project management tools. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Strong leadership and collaboration skills; experience in international and cross-cultural environments is a plus.
