As a part of Facilities Services, the Facilities Planning & Design (FPD) Planning team serves to support the mission and core values of the SHC enterprise. The FPD Planning team shapes the SHC environments by creating and managing spaces that empower healing and advance innovation. The FPD Planning team elevates the human experience for patients, providers, and staff by leading thoughtful programming, planning, and design of new spaces, optimizing existing spaces, and facilitating space changes through effective governance, all with the goal of enhancing the delivery of patient care. The Project Manager will be a passionate, organized, and detail-oriented individual responsible for overseeing multiple operations-funded projects. Key responsibilities include managing and analyzing space requests, developing strategic solutions that align with SHC’s space standards while minimizing infrastructure impacts, facilitating timely communication with stakeholders, and producing presentations consistent with Facilities Services graphic standards. Reporting to the Director of Planning, the Project Manager is accountable for project outcomes, including proactively identifying and resolving issues and ensuring alignment with SHC priorities. When assessing space requests, the Project Manager will evaluate scope, capacity, and departmental impacts while fostering collaboration across a broad range of stakeholders. The Project Manager serves as a liaison between project teams, operational partners, and leadership, and demonstrates strong project management skills with a focus on delivering actionable, strategic solutions. The ideal candidate has relevant building-industry experience in design and management of healthcare spaces, including (but not limited to) space planning, occupancy strategy, architecture, construction, and/or interior design. FPD Planning is seeking someone who can manage complexity with clarity, generate test fits, interpret architectural plans and clinical workflows, develop strong graphic floor plan layout options for space reconfigurations, and provide high-quality, data-informed recommendations. Strong communication skills, professional presence, and the ability to support governance processes are essential for success in this role. This role will be hybrid. Regardless, the expectation will be for this person to be able to be on-site any day of the week as needed during work hours.   **Key Responsibilities:**   + Define project scope and budgets in alignment with user needs and institutional goals + Coordinate communication, schedules, and deliverables across all stakeholder groups + Ensure adherence to health system policies, building codes, and safety regulations + Manage the selection, coordination, and implementation of furnishings, equipment, and finishes + Maintain thorough, auditable project records and support reporting and documentation requirements  + Develop test fits and create well thought-out options for review with stakeholders **Must have skills: **   + Working knowledge of Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite + Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings  + Experience developing space programs and planning test-fits  + Strong visual communication skills, including PowerPoint presentations for executive audiences  + Succinct verbal and written communication skills + Experience collaborating with stakeholders and interpreting operational needs into planning solutions  + Skilled in navigating multi-disciplinary teams, including engineers, contractors, and hospital staff    **Nice to have skills: **   + Degree in Architecture or related field (Architecture license a plus)  + Understanding of OSHPD/HCAI healthcare codes and regulations   + Working knowledge of Microsoft Project + Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) + Working knowledge of spreadsheets and formulas   If you are ready to lead transformative projects that shape the future of care, we encourage you to apply and join us in building what’s next.  **A Brief Overview** The Project Manager (PM) leads key organization initiatives for Stanford Health Care. Project Managers are responsible for the coordination and completion of all aspects of project management on assigned projects, including, but not limited to, project scope, project schedule, project budget, project plans, facilitating meetings, documenting requirements, overseeing development, operational workflows, and implementation. Additionally, the Project Manager directs participants in compliance and regulatory alignment efforts. The Project Manager is responsible for identifying and resolving project issues, making sure the project progresses on schedule and on budget. The PM is the point of communication with stakeholders and is accountable for the project's success. The Project Manager must have strong communication skills in acting as the liaison between the project team, subcontractor, customer, key stakeholders, and senior leadership. The Project Manager has ultimate responsibility for project delivery. The Project Manager may direct the project/senior project coordinator (PC or Sr. PC) to expedite project related tasks. **Locations** Stanford Health Care **What you will do** + Deliver concurrent various sized projects to successful completion. + Follow FS&P standard work/processes, policies, and procedures, develop detailed project plans, and complete required project documentation. + Coordinate with FS&P Senior leadership and BOSI manager on project budget targets, status, and resolution of related issues. + Utilize designated project management tools to report project status, manage issues, identify risks and escalations. + Develop and maintain effective relationships with project owners, operational leaders, business services, IT, vendors, and other project stakeholders. + Support Senior Project Managers as back up on projects. + Coordinate post-project review and lessons learned meetings following stabilization of projects. + Provide leadership while the project coordinator positions the team and collaborates in project implementation. + Balance both internal and external stakeholder interests to maintain alignment of the project outcomes. + Incorporate Lean practices to effectively manage stakeholder and operational leader expectations. + Understand customer requirements and manage the dynamics of these individuals. + Actively facilitate project scope and collaboratively set the schedule, future state processes and operational workflows, leveraging standard team tools to drive projects from intake through successful completion, and ensure the project is completed in scope, on schedule, and within budget. + Working knowledge of foundational activities (i.e. facilities, patient care services, IT, business services, patient experience, operational efficiency, supply chain, engineering & maintenance, etc.). + Develop effective and attainable workplans. + Identify and pursue opportunities to optimize effectiveness. + Develop and administer project reporting systems. + Prepare and present information concerning operational effectiveness. + Organize and delegate work to achieve desired outcomes **Education Qualifications** + Job requires a Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university. Relevant experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
