Job Title: Project Lead - Naval Combat Systems

Job Description

In this role, you will collaborate with subcontractors and other industry stakeholders to develop plans and procedures for an In-Service Support (ISS) program focused on various mission systems aboard the Navy's fleet of patrol frigates. You will provide a comprehensive ISS program and Through Life Management Plan (TLMP) while working with cross-functional Integrated Project Teams (IPTs).

ResponsibilitiesManage databases, research and analyze data, perform technical assessments, recommend improvements, and produce reports and metrics as requested by the customer and/or program manager.Develop Proposals, Statement of Works (SOWs), and Quotes for Emergent Work Requests, respond to Requests for Quotes (RFQ) from the customer, perform estimates, and provide technical information required to support submission of quotes.Plan and develop an Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for budget considerations alongside the Program Manager (PM) and Deputy PM.Utilize the customer's Information System and GDMS-C’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to collect, analyze, and monitor key elements of the program.Provide support and influence for the planning, scheduling, and execution of program docking work periods (DWPs) including repairs, overhauls, and maintenance.Work closely with industry partners on repair and overhaul, obsolescence management, upgrade planning, failure monitoring and analysis, and spares inventory management.Oversee the free flow repair and overhaul of the highly complex Radar systems to ensure that repairs/overhauls are executed in a timely manner.Support and/or lead the development of complex Engineering Changes (EC) including upgrades to the Radar Systems.Support the planning, initiation, and execution of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), work packages, and cost accounts.Support periodic schedule and cost status, including preparation of presentations for company and customer program reviews.Proactively identify issues and make recommendations to mitigate risk.Support program financial analysis by providing knowledgeable advice regarding the reliability and associated risks of forecast data.Support commercial services (up-contract) and subcontract management (OEMs) in the preparation of programmatic, financial, and technical correspondence with the customer and subcontractors.Essential Skills5+ years' experience in Project Management, Program Management, Lifecycle Material Management (LCM/LCMM), or Sub-contracts/Contracts Management.Prior exposure to the Navy, either through direct Navy service or through industry roles with organizations such as Lockheed Martin, Thales, or the Department of National Defence.Strong interpersonal skills with a diplomatic and humble demeanor for maintaining strong customer relationships.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in In-Service Support programs (navy, military, airforce), maintenance programs, and procurement of spares.Must be eligible for CGP and Secret clearance.Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.Excellent analytical capacity to interpret data, identify trends and problems early on, and make recommendations.Ability to motivate others through collaborative leadership and champion new ideas and calculated risk-taking.Positive attitude and ability to work within a team environment.Work Environment

You will work as part of a small team of 3-4 members, collaborating with 10 matrixed staff. The work schedule includes 3 days in-office with no set schedule, and occasional travel to Fleet Maintenance Facility sites in Victoria, BC and Halifax, if required (once or twice a year).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $87.00/hr.
