The Project Execution Lead will be responsible for overseeing the execution and completion of company projects and the teams involved, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Planning and Initiation:

Define the project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resources, and budgets.Conduct risk assessments and create risk management strategies to minimize project risks.

 

Resource Management:

Identify and allocate necessary resources, including team members, tools, and financial resources.Ensure team members are motivated, informed, and equipped to perform their roles effectively.

 

Project Execution:

Lead project teams and delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.Maintain project schedules and monitor project progress against established timelines.Implement project management methodologies and best practices to ensure consistent project execution.

 

Quality Assurance:

Establish quality standards and ensure projects meet these standards through regular inspections and audits.Implement corrective actions when discrepancies or deviations from the plan are identified.Facilitate continuous improvement by gathering insights and feedback post-project completion.

 

Stakeholder Communication:

Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications.Regularly provide project updates to stakeholders, including progress reports, status updates, and performance metrics.Facilitate meetings with project teams and stakeholders to address issues, align objectives, and ensure project success.

Financial Management:

Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring financial resources are utilized efficiently.Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures where possible.Provide financial reports and analytics to senior management regarding project financials.

 

Risk Management:

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to manage and reduce their impact.Respond to project crises and issues promptly and effectively.Maintain a risk log and regularly update it with new risks and mitigation actions.

Project Closure:

Conduct project evaluations and assessments to determine project success.Document project learnings and share findings with relevant departments for continuous improvement.Ensure all project deliverables are completed and signed off by stakeholders.

Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure all projects comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.Prepare detailed project reports and documentation for internal audits and compliance checks.Maintain comprehensive project records for future reference and transparency.

 

This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid schedule with the expectation of 3 days per week in our downtown Chicago office, and 2 days remote from home.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related fieldPMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferredMinimum of 10 years experience in project/program management rolesProven track record of successful project deliveryStrong leadership and team management skillsExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesExceptional communication and organizational skillsProficiency in project management software and toolsAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExperience with Agile and Scrum methodologiesStrong technical background relevant to IT systemsProficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project or Asana
