Our employee benefits packages include: Position Summary CoolSys is seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to support our HVAC and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) estimating team in delivering competitive proposals for commercial projects nationwide. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with early career experience in mechanical systems—or a background in mechanical engineering—who are looking to build a career in estimating. You’ll work alongside experienced estimators and project teams to gain hands-on experience with plan analysis, material take-offs, and estimate development across both HVAC and refrigeration scopes. Our employee benefits packages include: Competitive pay $66K to $85K Medical, Dental, Vision and Prescription coverage Paid vacation and holidays 401(K) match Life insurance, AD&D and long-term disability Tuition reimbursement Opportunities available nationwide Employee discounts on vehicles, hotels, theme parks, select cell phone bills and so much more Pet Insurance Legal Plan, and ID Theft Protection Responsibilities Key Responsibilities • Analyze mechanical and refrigeration drawings and specifications. • Perform take-offs for ductwork, piping, controls, and refrigeration equipment. • Assist in developing detailed and accurate estimates. • Participate in peer reviews of take-offs with senior estimators. • Organize and track vendor pricing and subcontractor quotes. • Maintain estimate documentation and bid files. • Coordinate with internal departments to validate scope and manage bid timelines. • Take part in training programs and mentoring sessions to build technical proficiency. Required Qualifications • 0–2 years of experience in HVAC, refrigeration, construction, or mechanical systems. • General understanding of HVAC and refrigeration principles and components. • Ability to interpret mechanical plans and construction documents. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; willingness to learn estimating software. • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Qualifications Preferred Qualifications • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC/R Technology, Data Analytics or Construction Management. • Exposure to refrigeration systems (rack systems, walk-ins, reach-ins) is a plus. • Hands-on field experience or internship in HVAC/R trades is desirable. • Familiarity with estimating or take-off tools (Bluebeam, FastEst, Trimble, Planswift, etc.). • Excel VBA knowledge is a plus.
