We have a fantastic opportunity based at our Smithtown Milo factory for a Project Engineering Manager. This role will lead the site capital investment program and coordinate contribution of all stakeholders by managing a cross-functional team. This could involve the relocation and optimizing of the existing fixed asset base and/or the purchase of new fixed assets.
The Project Engineering Manager will leverage their technical expertise and project management skills to drive innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in engineering processes, while also ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
**A day in the life…**
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Support the End-to-End Project Management of all site capital projects including defining the project team, project scope, budget, goals and deliverables that support business requirements in collaboration with both senior management and key stakeholders.
+ Lead the project team and coordinate all stakeholders for project implementation (e.g., buildings, equipment erections, piping, utilities, etc.) in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality, URS and technical training in such a way that safety is always managed, and a vertical start-up is assured.
+ Build the investment project charter and ensure that it is strictly followed throughout the project.
+ During project design phase execute the basic design and then the detailed design based on Nestlé standards, local regulations, User Requirements Specifications, TPM requirements (safety, quality, maintainability, operability, and reliability) and worker safety during both the construction phase and the ongoing operation of the plant.
+ Coordinate efforts with the start-up manager and their team to assure a smooth transition to operations after the qualification and verification of the installation have been finalized.Prepare and distribute project documentation, project final report and provide feedback to the Maintenance System.
+ Be the engineering project team leader integrating, motivating, proving feedback, coaching, developing, managing, and evaluating team members and being their support and liaison with the project steering committees and project stakeholders.
**What will make you successful**
+ Joining a collaborative team, you will be self-motivated, proactive and have a proven capacity to work effectively within a team environment.
+ Completion of tertiary study in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Automation, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
+ Minimum 7 years’ experience in a project management environment within which projects were defined and budgeted (+$10 MN.), assessed and implemented (entire project lifecycle).
+ Experience in managing multiple separate projects with concurrent timelines within the food industry.
+ Demonstrated understanding and full commitment to safe ways of working including in depth knowledge of all current applicable safety standards.
+ Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and how they relate to Hygienic Design and QA processes during project implementation, commissioning and ongoing operations.
+ Experience with People development and management tools (including coaching, competencies training, career and succession planning, recruitment, and development).
+ You take pride and responsibility in what you do with strong problem-solving skills and continuous improvement mind-set.
