**Job Title:** Project Engineer - European Projects **Location:** EEU - Germany (Bavaria), EEU - Germany (Berlin), EEU - Germany (North Rhine-Westphalia), EEU - Ireland Home Office, EEU - Spain (Barcelona City), EEU - Spain (Madrid City) **Job Summary and Description:** EPRI Europe is seeking a Project Engineer to support the development and execution of European research and innovation projects, particularly under the Horizon Europe programme and related funding schemes. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the European energy R&I landscape while contributing to EPRI's global mission of delivering independent, objective science and technology solutions for the benefit of the public. The Project Engineer will support the entire project lifecycle, including: • Identifying strategic R&I priorities and relevant EU funding opportunities • Supporting the coordination of proposal preparation and consortium building • Supporting the development of project agreements and contracting • Supporting project execution, including technical coordination, partner management, and reporting You will collaborate closely with EPRI's global research teams, European members and stakeholders, and external project partners. ⸻ Key Responsibilities • Monitor and assess relevant European R&I calls (e.g., Horizon Europe, MSCA, Clean Energy Transition Partnership) to identify opportunities aligned with EPRI's priorities. • Support the preparation of project proposals, including technical content, work plans, budgets, and administrative sections. • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, including EPRI researchers, consortium partners, and consultants during proposal and project phases. • Provide assistance to the negotiation and setup of grant agreements and consortium agreements. • Coordiante and support day-to-day project implementation, including scheduling, budgeting, deliverables, and reporting. • Promote compliance with European Commission (EC) requirements and internal EPRI policies. • Support knowledge dissemination, including workshops and public reports. • Represent EPRI Europe in project meetings and European stakeholder forums as required Education and Experience • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, energy systems, or related fields. • PhD is a strong plus, particularly in energy systems. • Minimum 3 years of direct experience with EU-funded R&I projects (e.g. Horizon Europe, Horizon 2020). • Demonstrated experience managing multi-partner projects or large-scale proposals. • Familiarity with the lifecycle of EC projects: from call screening and proposal writing to grant agreement, execution, and final reporting. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Understanding of the European R&I landscape and energy sector policy context. • Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills. • Fluency in English (both verbal and written); additional European languages are a plus. • Ability to work independently in a dynamic, international environment. • Proficiency in MS Office and common project management tools.
