The Boeing Phantom Works Engineering Team, has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer - Authorized Individual (Lead or Senior). An AI is a Boeing title and not an U.S. Government title or Industry title. This position is part of the Systems Engineering Capability, under the Phantom Works Organization.
The AI will perform technology commodity classification and determinations relative to US export regulations for the various programs organized under Phantom Works (PW). The AI will perform formally or informally as a member of feasibility and trade study teams for design solutions using Design 4 Export as an independent variable in pursuit of exportability solutions. The AI will support Export Consent Agreement effort and investigations of potential regulatory violations as technology expert when needed. As Mentor AI, the AI will provide guidance to non-self-classifying and certified AIs and be point to all AI related matters under the Phantom Works Organization.
This position will require strong technical collaboration with the Boeing Engineering community, Global
Trade Control Specialists, Program Export Integration, Supplier Management, and other Export Control Authorized Individuals in support of U.S. Federal export control jurisdiction and classification determination related to Boeing

Responsibilities:
Primary Point of Contact for all commodity classifications
Perform Order of Review process toward export commodity classifications
Support investigations of potential regulatory violations when it involves commodities
Provide record of determination and document results in determinations repository
Participate in long-term global strategy development with BDS EI&C Team
Support the development of solutions to a variety of complex export problems
Interact with stakeholders to resolve requests in a timely manner
Apply project management skills to address export related Phantom Works priorities
Review engineering data and documentation to assign export jurisdiction and classification determinations
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations.
Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically depending on business needs.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
5+ years of experience with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
5+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 5: 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience managing program export control, such as global work packages
Basic understanding of the BDS tools engineers use to create and release engineering data (Drawings, Documents, etc.)
Experience with technical writing and editing and preparing presentations for leadership
Strong integration skills and understanding of technical and product relationships
Demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding targets goals and strong skills in project execution
Typical Education/Experience:
Level 4:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Level 5:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range (Level 4): $114,750 - $165,600
Summary pay range (Level 5): $140,250 - $203,550
