Project Engineer

Job Description

This organization has 5 plants domestically and many more globally. They are investing heavily in their St. Louis location, with capital projects totaling $25–$30 million annually over the next 3–5 years. This investment supports the relocation of work previously done in Mexico and includes transformation efforts such as equipment design and installation, refurbishing older equipment, utilities upgrades, OEE improvements, and SAP integration.

They are seeking project managers to oversee these initiatives, ensuring execution aligns with timelines, budgets, and design specifications. Responsibilities include interfacing with contractors and collaborating closely with design teams on layout and conceptualization. The current team of 4 project managers needs to be doubled to meet strategic goals. Much of the work will involve piping and electrical installations to support key product lines such as disinfectants, cleaning agents, and fabric care products.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering support for analysis, design, purchase, modification, installation, and start-up of production and facility equipment and systems.

Qualifications

B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical)3–10 years of experience in high-speed packaging equipment or chemical batch processing operations in consumer productsProficiency in CAD, Microsoft Office, and project management softwareKnowledge of motor controls, sensors, basic electrical power distribution, and PLC capabilitiesStrong organizational and follow-up skillsAbility to manage multiple projects concurrentlySkills in planning, scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, design/layout, and contractor supervisionEffective communication and presentation skillsTeam-oriented and committed to continuous learning

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
