Job Description: Project Engineer We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team, focusing on systems prime/sole supplier for Department of Defense (DoD) programs related to 40mm. You will be at the forefront of developing innovative manufacturing processes and materials for our cutting-edge projects. Responsibilities + Research and develop new manufacturing processes and materials. + Analyze existing processes and identify areas for improvement. + Evaluate designs and plan the layout of equipment for production. + Conduct tests to evaluate the efficiency of processes. + Ensure safety and compliance with environmental regulations. + Collaborate with engineers, chemists, and production staff to ensure quality and efficiency. + Support ballistics testing and analyze data from testing. + Develop and maintain failure analysis procedures consistent with company quality policies. + Support technical insertion activities and manage project implementation. + Analyze all drawing and technical data specifications for compliance with customer requirements. + Participate in weekly Integrated Product Teams (IPT) as required. + Develop cost estimates for process implementation and production. + Document all created and modified processes. Essential Skills + Project management experience. + Mechanical engineering expertise. + Systems engineering knowledge. + Strong customer relations skills, including support and communication. + Experience in the defense industry, particularly defense aerospace. + Proficiency in manufacturing and quality process management. + Program management and project engineering experience. + Familiarity with Solidworks. + Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. + 5+ years of experience in the Defense industry. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in customer relations to support and communicate project needs. + Proficiency in developing cost estimates for process implementation. + Ability to document processes effectively. Work Environment The work schedule is from 7am to 5pm, with a 9/80 work schedule—four nine-hour days followed by an eight-hour Friday, offering every other Friday off. Flexible hours are available within an hour each way, as long as you remain consistent. Travel is required about 25-30% of the time to locations in Arkansas and occasionally to other load/assemble/packaging sites.
